The Equal Justice Initiative has published extensive reports on America's history of racial injustice—from enslavement and lynching to segregation and mass incarceration—exposing how this legacy still shapes our criminal justice system today. Previously available in print, they were seeking to digitize these reports to make them more accessible. The Equal Justice Initiative invited Madeo Studio to partner on the project and I contributed to its work as a designer on the team.

For this long-form reading experience, as a designer on the Madeo team, I tested various navigation methods to ensure easy access and maintain reader engagement. I also collaborated with another Madeo designer in the visual exploration of designing a system that could work consistently across all reports.
What started as a print report has transformed into a dynamic digital experience that has powerful stories to tell, and inspires readers to become supporters and engage with the EJI community
